Autumn in the Klein Karoo – Safari Ostrich Farm
Yet another crisp and fresh Autumn Morning at Safari Ostrich Farm, taking a drive down onto our breeding farm to feed the ostriches.
Our Chicks growing-up.
As an Ostrich Farming concern we do diversify and also farm with sheep and cattle. With Winter approaching our Ostriches are now out of their breeding season. The last of our chicks from the Summer are now what we call Juveniles and are approximately 4-6 months. Our sheep are currently all having lambs and the farm is filled with bleats.
See our cute lambs.
Although our mornings are chilly to start with, the days are still lovely and warm, it’s a wonderful time of year to take beautiful sunset pictures. Our tours are departing from 08h00 till 16h00, every hour on the hour. Come and enjoy a Tour on our Tractor and a delicious lunch in our sunny garden.
At Safari Ostrich Farm, we have a well established Vegetable Garden and a lot of our fresh produce comes from this garden. We have produced a wonderful assortment of Herbs, Tomato’s, Gem Squash, Butternut, Spinach, Beetroot and Gooseberries to name a few. Being an Ostrich Farm, our Ostrich Meat is the crowning jewel of all our Menu’s. We serve beautiful Open Sandwiches with a variety of toppings, the most popular being one topped with Ostrich Carpaccio.
