Safari Ostrich Farm has in conjunction with De Zeekoe Guest Farm (our neighbours) been supporting the little public school in our area for the past 10 years. We are very passionate about these little ones’ well-being and through Social upliftment and addressing the needs of the community, we hope to give these children the tools and the opportunities to improve their lives as well as give them a solid education built on a solid foundation.

To celebrate Mandela Day this week we were very fortunate that the Managers of Ocean Basket Oudtshoorn – Jaco and Angie Van Zyl chose to spend their 67 minutes at our school community project. Jaco and Angie along with their staff prepared and packed 130 meals for all the kids at the school and were kind enough to spoil our teachers too.

They also thought of keeping it healthy with lovely Hake and rice, which the children loved!  As we have a feeding scheme at present in our school which takes a huge chunk of our funds yearly, the contribution that Ocean Basket made on Mandela Day helped us tremendously and we are grateful for the kind gesture.
